Justin Mohn of Levittown allegedly shot and beheaded his government employee dad, 68-year-old Michael F. Mohn, in a bathroom at his parents' home in the 100 block of Upper Orchard Drive, in Middletown Township on Jan. 30, 2024, DA Jennifer Schorn explained citing the police investigation.
Authorities believe Justin Mohn was "of clear mind" when he supposedly decided to kill his father, carry out the act, and flee, as stated in a press conference on Thursday, Aug. 1, as Daily Voice reported at the time. Judge Stephen Corr made the ruling that Mohn is competent to stand trial following a five-hour hearing on the matter.
He testified for two hours during his preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 10, as we previously reported.
Justin Mohn was formally arraigned on Friday, Oct. 4.
The DA released the following statement about the case:
"Prior to the arraignment before Common Pleas Judge Stephen A. Corr, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office filed notice of aggravating circumstances in the murder case against Mohn, preserving the prosecution’s right to pursue the death penalty should he be convicted of first-degree murder"
His next court date is scheduled for later October, the need date was not immediately available.
He has been held at Bucks County CFI.
Before this deadly incident, Justin Mohn showed some odd behavior that manifested itself in a series of bizarre federal lawsuits that ended in Dec. 2023. Click here to read all the details we found in those federal court documents.
